Swan Valley Community Foundation presented the First Annual Youth Outdoor Education Rendezvous on June 15th, 2024. What a day, what an event! With big smiles and rapt attention, children and parents experienced hands on learning about ten outdoor skills. The Foundation hosted the Second Annual 2024 Community Celebration at the Hungry Bear Grill on June 25th, 2024. The Foundation hosted 120 people with food and music at this free community building event.
The Foundation awarded two $1500 2024 Scholarships to Jalen Kauffman and Cadence Mauldin, graduating high school seniors at the June 25th Community Celebration. The Swan Laker’s also presented a $2,000 scholarship.
The Foundation reviewed 2024 Community Grants Applications and awarded a combined total of $5,830 at the June 25th Community Celebration to six organizations and community projects. They include:
- Living with Wildlife: Campsite cleanup
- Swan Valley Community Library: Improve Building Appearance
- Swan Valley PTA: Field Trips to RMEF & Smoke Jumpers
- Alpine Artisans: Two Valley Stage artists in school
- American Legion Post 063: playing equipment for Ball Field
- Swan Valley Senior Services: Senior Meals
The Foundation awarded 2024 Community Service Awards. Ken Donovan was presented the second Annual Vern Sharp Community Service Award for his efforts and many years of service to the Swan Valley Community. Swan Valley Emergency Services was recognized for their unfailing response to fire, accidents, and medical emergencies. The Swan Valley Community Club and the Condon Community Church were recognized for their efforts in the betterment of the Community Hall and the Arena Cook House.
The Foundation developed a comprehensive 2024 Service Directory for Seniors in the Swan Valley – A Review Draft was presented at the June Community Celebration.
At the 2024 Annual Community Celebration, the Swan Valley Foundation held its first annual auction of five unique donated gifts to raise funds supporting Foundation Projects. The Foundation also published and explained How can you help.
2024 The Foundation had a table at the Frostbite Festival featuring handmade arts and crafts by the supporters of the Foundation.
2024 The board held 2024 annual meeting, reviewed policies and bylaws, elected officers, reviewed finances, evaluated the board and 2024 efforts, mission and vision and determined the focus for 2025.
